2014 Sesi 41 Week of 17th Nov 2014 God of Happiness

[2014] Session 41 of 17th Nov 2014
God of Happiness?

1. Genesis 19: 4 8

[4] Before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, surrounded the house, both young and old, all the people from every quarter;
[5] and they called to Lot and said to him, "Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may have relations with them."
[6] But Lot went out to them at the doorway, and shut the door behind him,
[7] and said, "Please, my brothers, do not act wickedly.
[8] "Now behold, I have two daughters who have not had relations with man; please let me bring them out to you, and do to them whatever you like ; only do nothing to these men, inasmuch as they have come under the shelter of my roof."

Bacaan tambahan dari 2Peter2:6-7 :
[6] if by turning the cities of Sodom and Gomor’rah to ashes he condemned them to extinction and made them an example to those who were to be ungodly;
[7] and if he rescued righteous Lot, greatly distressed by the licentiousness of the wicked

Pertanyaan 1 :

2. Matthew 12: 22-32

[22] Then a demon-possessed man who was blind and mute was brought to Jesus, and He healed him, so that the mute man spoke and saw.
[23] All the crowds were amazed, and were saying, "This man cannot be the Son of David, can he?"
[24] But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, "This man casts out demons only by Beelzebul the ruler of the demons."
[25] And knowing their thoughts Jesus said to them, "Any kingdom divided against itself is laid waste; and any city or house divided against itself will not stand.
[26] "If Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself; how then will his kingdom stand?
[27] "If I by Beelzebul cast out demons, by whom do your sons cast them out? For this reason they will be your judges. [28] "But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.
[29] "Or how can anyone enter the strong man’s house and carry off his property, unless he first binds the strong man? And then he will plunder his house.
[30] "He who is not with Me is against Me; and he who does not gather with Me scatters.
[31] "Therefore I say to you, any sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven people, but blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven.
[32] "Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.

Pertanyaan 2:

3. Matthew 27: 41-46

[41] In the same way the chief priests also, along with the scribes and elders, were mocking Him and saying,
[42] "He saved others; He cannot save Himself. He is the King of Israel; let Him now come down from the cross, and we will believe in Him.
[43] "HE TRUSTS IN GOD; LET GOD RESCUE Him now, IF HE DELIGHTS IN HIM; for He said, ‘I am the Son of God.’ "
[44] The robbers who had been crucified with Him were also insulting Him with the same words.
[45] Now from the sixth hour darkness fell upon all the land until the ninth hour.
[46] About the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, "ELI, ELI, LAMA SABACHTHANI?" that is, "MY GOD, MY GOD, WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME?"

Diary St. Faustina entry 1320 :
"At three o’clock, implore My mercy, especially for sinners; and, if only for a brief moment, immerse yourself in My Passion, particularly in My abandonment at the moment of agony."

Pertanyaan 3:
Mengapa Yesus mengatakan kalau Allah Bapa meninggalkan Dia?

But the depths of His words no one knows
No one knows how far
The farthest reason goes
How limitless His suffering was —
Solitude on the tree of the Cross.

Closing Prayer

O Christ Jesus, when all is darkness and we feel our weakness and helplessness, give us the sense of Your presence, Your love, and Your strength. Help us to have perfect trust in Your protecting love and strengthening power, so that nothing may frighten or worry us, for, living close to You, we shall see Your hand, Your purpose, Your will through all things. (St. Ignatius of Loyola)
